Take Part!

Why not join one of Half Moon's Youth Theatres? It's a fantastic opportunity to explore drama, create brilliant shows and make plenty of new friends along the way! We have 5 groups that run during term time.

All of our Youth Theatres are open to young disabled people and our venue is fully accessible. We also run SOLAR - a specialist group for disabled teenagers on Wednesdays.

5 reasons to join
  • Great value! Just £5 per session (£2.50 concession)
  • Run by friendly and experienced tutors
  • No auditions
  • Access all areas – your chance to go backstage and get technical
  • Perform for friends and family at the end of each term

Who can join?
Anyone! There are no auditions to join, all we ask for is enthusiasm and commitment. All groups are inclusive and we will provide access assistance for any young people with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and learning disabilities wanting to join a group.

How do I join?
The autumn Youth Theatre term starts week commencing 26 September and the 2012 spring term starts week commencing 9 January. To check availability, contact us on 020 7709 8901 or email youth@halfmoon.org.uk. Please note, all of our staff have Enhanced CRB status.

*Note on Sunbeam and Moonbeam Youth Theatres: If you want to enrol one child in Youth Theatre whilst younger siblings see a show, choose Sunbeam. If you want to enrol a chilld in Youth Theatre and then sometimes watch a show together afterwards, choose Moonbeam.

Solar Youth Theatre
Alongside Half Moon's inclusive groups is Solar, a group exclusively for disabled teenagers, who feel their needs are better met in a specialist setting. We will happily discuss access requirements and provide communicators and access workers as appropriate. We fund transport for disabled members who live in Tower Hamlets if necessary. This group is extremely creative and challenging for members.
