Half Moon awarded funding from the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme

Half Moon is delighted to have been awarded funding from the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme with support from The Linbury Trust.

The grant will support a series of measures to ensure that the theatre building meets the fire safety regulations, providing a safe environment for young people and families. The works include fire detection and alarm system upgrade, fire compartmentation upgrade and passive fire protection works and remedial work to existing fire doorsets.

Speaking about the grant, Louise Allen, Executive Director / Joint CEO of Half Moon said:

“We are incredibly grateful to the Theatres Trust Small Grants Programme with support from The Linbury Trust for this vital support. This funding will enable us to carry out important fire safety improvements, ensuring our building remains a welcoming and secure space for the children, young people and families who visit us. Their investment helps safeguard not only our venue but the creative experiences we offer to the community.”

Speaking about the award Joshua McTaggart, CEO of Theatres Trust said:

“Theatres Trust is delighted to be able to support Half Moon Young People’s Theatre with this essential suite of works that that will enable this much-loved theatre to provide to continue to provide a safe environment for young people to experience the joys of theatre.”

Work on upgrading Half Moon’s fire prevention and detection systems is also supported by Foyle Foundation, Grange Farm Centre Trust and the 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust.
