With most performances cancelled in 2020, it’s wonderful to be reminded of the broad range of shows available for young people, as the Puppet Centre Trust releases its annual Year in Puppetry film.
The six minute showcase video draws together a selection of stills taken of British puppetry in 2019, in order to celebrate the diversity, art and skill of puppetry happening in Britain today.
We’re delighted that a puppet from The Goose Who Flew, a Lots of Odds and Half Moon Presents stage production, has been included in the video and features at the start of the film, 30 seconds in.
The Goose Who Flew featured a gorgeous feathery goose puppet made by Amber Donovan. The show, for ages 3-7, was a heartfelt story about the importance of compassion, community and understanding.
Established in 1974, Puppet Centre Trust is the national development agency for puppetry and focuses on contemporary performance practice, encouraging innovation, whilst also respecting and preserving the heritage of the art form.
