Child Safety Week: 24th – 30th June
Child Safety Week runs from today, 24th June – Sunday 30th June.
Child Safety Week is the Child Accident Prevention Trust’s flagship annual community education campaign, raising awareness of serious childhood accidents and how to prevent them, without wrapping children in cotton wool.
Their free resources act as a catalyst for thousands of fun and engaging local activities and events which reach families UK-wide.
And Child Safety Week has a real impact. Last year, awareness of Child Safety Week among parents hit an all-time high of 31%. In 2012, one in eight parents surveyed made their children safer from serious accidents as a direct result of the Week.
Child Safety Week’s message for 2013 is: You don’t need to be superhuman to be a Safety Hero! It’s the small things you do that can stop children suffering serious harm.
So, whether you’re a parent or a practitioner, pledge to carry out three simple but effective safety actions for Child Safety Week, and print out your very own Safety Hero certificate.
