This course offers drama and creative activities for teaching children about how they can stay safe online, using practical exercises and discussions around the themes of communication, trust, and fact vs opinion. The course will also help participating staff to think about how they might work with parents to further encourage staying safe online.
Feedback from teachers at previous Online Safety CPD sessions:
- Half Moon provided an eye-opening course into how to educate young people about their online presence, getting them to consider if their online behavior is different to real life.
- It was a very valuable day that gave a number of strategies and activities that I will take straight to school! The drama activities will bring the learning to life and help me to engage all learners.
- On a personal level – I will be implementing a lot of what I learnt in my own home with my own children.
Sessions are FREE to staff at schools in Tower Hamlets thanks to funding from Tower Hamlets Arts Music Education Service (THAMES). A limited number of places are also available for staff from schools in other boroughs and educators working in London at a fee of £90+VAT.
