Creative Play and Dance & Drama sessions

Our bespoke programmes for Early Years include introductions to a performance at our theatre with accompanying workshops. We also deliver our signature Creative Play programme and a specialist EY Dance and Drama programme.

These programmes were created in response to requests from Tower Hamlets children’s centres for sessions to support children with their active play. Sessions take place across a term or just a few weeks and allow young children to explore their bodies and their imaginations, encouraging them to feel confident with moving and communicating.

Creative Play

Our signature Creative Play programme is designed to work with children and parents/carers together where everyone gets involved. The programme explores journeys to different environments and supports children in developing their imaginative play as well as their physical exploration. Sessions create a strong link between ideas and materials used by the facilitators and objects found at home.

In the Autumn 2023 term, we are working in Overland and Isle of Dogs Children and Family Centres.

Dance and Drama

These sessions enable a class of children to move from movement, physical expression and dance to stories and narrative through storyworlds and multi-sensory play. Sessions develop children’s strength and balance as well as encouraging a sense of narrative in their play.

We can include a one-off Messy Play session as part of the programme, giving children a chance to creatively engage with a variety of wet and dry materials.
