What Placements involve

  • Students on technical courses at partner universities can join us for a six-day intensive placement in the autumn term where they support GCSE Drama students on our Careers in Theatre programme. Working as part of professional team of 20 creatives, you will work with young people to create a play in a day, working on one of the five disciplines (acting, lighting, sound, design, stage management)

Students interested in summer placements can work with us on our Next Steps programme to provide pastoral support to the young people while they are with us for a week-long summer school.

  • Join us for one of our many programmes delivered here at Half Moon or in the local community of Tower Hamlets. Commit to one day, one afternoon or one evening a week for ten weeks. You will be involved in the term’s planning and evaluation sessions and gain hands on experience of working one-to-one with young people with additional needs and in small and larger groups with all young people in the group you are allocated to.

  • Join us for a full term’s placement where you will work on a variety of our programmes, supporting our facilitator teams to deliver Youth Theatres for different ages, Creative Play sessions for under 5s and After School Drama groups. You will be involved in the term’s planning and evaluation sessions and gain hands on experience of working one-to-one with young people with additional needs and in small and larger groups with all our young people.
