The Singing Donkey

“Come and see the world’s first singing donkey!”

Donkey always wanted to sing. When the farmer tells him he is no longer useful, he sets off for the big city. Along the way, Donkey makes new friends who ‘sing’ along with him, but danger is all around for the hapless crew. Thankfully, the animals sing so badly that inadvertently the noise they make scares away some unsavoury characters and they continue on their way to fame and fortune.

Colourful puppetry, silly mask characters and bags of audience interaction make this a fun and rowdy show for everyone, beautifully designed and performed with quirky humour by Half Moon favourite, Zannie Fraser.

Half Moon favourites – acclaimed poet Simon Mole and TikTok musical sensation Gecko – will ask audiences to get involved with some fun and silly games as they weave songs, rap and joyful lyrics together for the whole family to enjoy, although some elements may be best enjoyed by those aged 3+.

Breadcrumbs

Hansel and Gretel are siblings that just can’t seem to get along. They argue about everything: Who’s the loudest, who’s the fastest, who’s the smartest, who’s Mum’s favourite, and who gets the most presents?! So when they wake up lost and confused in the heart of the enchanted forest one night, it’s no surprise they even disagree about how they came to be there! But with only a trail of breadcrumbs to guide them home, they’ll have to put aside their differences once and for all to solve the mystery of how they got there and make it home!

This brand new family show packed full of music, magic and puppetry from Wrongsemble and Gala Durham celebrates how even the simplest story can become the wildest festive fairytale in the hands of the right storyteller!

All are welcome, although some elements may be best enjoyed by those aged 3+.
