Deep in the heart of the forest stood the Littlest Fir Tree. He longed to stretch as tall as the mighty trees around him, but no matter how hard he tried, he could never quite reach their heights. The robins flew past his slender branches, and the foxes scurried by, unable to burrow beneath his shallow roots.
Lonely and overlooked, he dreamed of one day being chosen: of standing proud as a beloved Christmas tree. Until, on a frosty winter’s eve, a tiny spider spins a delicate web across his branches, shimmering like silver in the moonlight.
Transformed by his glistening beauty, a wandering villager stops in awe, moved by the magical scene. Lovingly and gently lifting him from the earth to carry him home to his cosy cottage, where at last, the Littlest Fir Tree’s festive wish comes true.
This heart-warming retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale is brought to life with delightful puppetry, original music and audience interaction.
The Littlest Fir Tree is a WhatNot Theatre production.
