A sensory immersive winter adventure through the frozen north and into the heart of the Snow Queen’s winter

Welcome to Barentsburg- a tiny village perched on the icy finger of Spitsbergen, lighting up for one magical night to tell the story of brave Gerda and her lost friend Kai. When a shard of mirror lodges in Kai’s eye and the Snow Queen carries him away to her beautiful, frozen palace, Gerda doesn’t wait long. She cries exactly as long as she needs to, and then she puts her boots on.

Told in spoken word poetry and brought to life through spellbinding puppetry, live music and interactive storytelling, The Snow Queen of Spitsbergen is a sensory immersive adventure through the frozen north and into the heart of the Snow Queen’s winter- a world of patterns, puzzles and breathtaking beauty, where friendship, resilience and joy are the only things that can melt the ice.

At the end of the show, the audience journey together through the aurora forest-a world of light, sound and sensation. Just like winter itself.

This enchanting magical sensory immersive show is perfect for families and young children aged 3-9, and disabled children of all ages who experience complex and multiple barriers to access.

The Snow Queen of Spitsbergen is a Blanket Fort Club production.
