Mapping New Directions in Theatre for Young Audiences Conference – Thursday 27 March 2014
On Thursday 27 March 2014, the Centre for Performing Arts Development (CPAD) at University of East London, in association with Half Moon, ran a one-day conference: Mapping New Directions in Theatre for Young Audiences.
This event brought together professional practitioners, students and academics to examine new and
emerging approaches in contemporary TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) praxis.
Speakers and contributors on the day included Dr Dominic Hingorani (Senior Lecturer in Theatre Studies at University of East London) and acclaimed theatre company Tangled Feet, who ran a practical workshop. A symposium was led by Chris Elwell (Director at Half Moon) who concluded the day with a panel discussion of artists from Paper Balloon, Floods of Ink and Zest Theatre.
