My week at the Half Moon Theatre is sadly coming to an end, but it is an experience that I will not forget. I have watched plays, visited schools, prepared props, created a leaflet and done some filming.
I found the work experience here really excellent because of the relaxed and very friendly attitudes of the staff members who were all really kind and hard working. They taught me lots and gave up some of their time to aid me with my projects.
One thing I learnt about the Half Moon is that it is not just a Youth Theatre. Far more happens behind the scenes than I had originally thought – spaces are available for hire, the basement holds an arts and crafts room and a big costume cupboard, and the Half Moon team are constantly on the move to visit schools and theatres to present their work to the youth.
I am going to miss my time here a lot. It’s been such a fulfilling and warming experience and I hope that I have helped the Half Moon this week.
Henry came to us from Colfe’s School (Greenwich) from 7th-11th July 2014.
