Sharings – Summer 2015

Eclipse, Lunar and Solar Youth Theatres have just finished their summer terms, which means the groups took part in a series of ‘sharings’ in front of family and friends. Couldn’t make it to the special event? Take a look at our galleries and join in the drama!

The Enchanted Key
Eclipse Youth Theatre (School Years 4-6) have been devising and scripting their own work this term. The group began with a few props and created magical worlds with characters from afar! They started with a mysterious forest and a key – but where does it lead them?

Hood
YT-SHaring-Hood-150Lunar Youth Theatre (School Years 7-12) presented the play Hood, by Katherine Chandler, for two performances. Hood is the story of a struggling family whose teenage children are left in charge of their growing up. It’s a modern twist on a classic tale. Lunar delivered this story of the modern day hero, Robyn Hood, through an ensemble cast, asking the audience questions about class and the division of wealth in the world around them.

The Enchanted Forest
YTSharing-Solar-150A devised performance that emerged from a world created by Solar Youth Theatre members last term in response to an old Scottish tale. Since then, members have developed their own characters and a new story has emerged. We welcome you to the magical, dream-like world of an enchanted forest, where a dancing bride, on the eve of her wedding, may or may not get married in the end!

Solar Youth Theatre is a specialist group for disabled teenagers.
