Above and Below, by George Green’s School, 13 July – 28 August 2015
Two of Half Moon’s very local secondary schools, Bishop Challoner Catholic Federation and St Paul’s Way Trust, are proud to present an exciting display of artwork drawn from the very best of their GCSE and A Level students. Each piece has been created in response to their examination courses, as they interpret the world around them and so ‘making marks’.
The students have drawn on a wide range of artists – their practice, style and interpretation of themes – as their inspiration. Their work is, as a result, individual, sensitive, dynamic and full of expression as they have all created a truly personal approach using different mediums including water colour, oils and charcoal.
Making Marks is part of Half Moon’s on-going commitment to showcase the work of local art students from across our home borough of Tower Hamlets and presented in collaboration with members of the Tower Hamlets Artist Teachers Network.

There will be an official opening event on Thursday 13 July, between 4pm – 6.30pm, where you can chat to the young artists about their work in a relaxed atmosphere.
The artwork featured in the exhibition is not available to purchase.
Beneath the artwork, there are chalkboards for visitors of all ages to make their own responses to the art. For all our exhibitions, we provide a gallery trail for children and special events. School and community groups can visit free of charge by prebooking and can use our gallery trail to support Arts Award Discover and Explore. For details contact Beccy on 020 7709 8908 or via email.
Making Marks runs from 12 July – 1 September 2017 at Gallery @ Half Moon during the theatre summer opening hours: Monday – Friday 10am – 6pm.
