12 July – 3 September 2018
Tower Hamlets Artist Teachers Network and four of Half Moon’s local partnership secondary schools, Bow School, Langdon Park School, Morpeth School and Swanlea School, came together to present an exciting display of artwork drawn from the very best of their 2018 GCSE students.
Each piece, created in response to the specifications for their examination courses, was striking in its maturity, breadth of style, and sensitivity in the exploration of personal themes.
The range of media was extensive from photography, mixed media and digital collage to pastel, pen and paint. The work of the young artists, aged 14 to 16, provided an engaging visual appraisal of contemporary London.
Examining Art aimed to celebrate and encourage student creativity and career development beyond GCSE art. The exhibition was part of Half Moon’s on-going commitment to showcase the work of local art students from across our home borough of Tower Hamlets and to inspire more young people to get creative.
The exhibition was presented in collaboration with the Tower Hamlets Artist Teachers Network.
