Pictures at Play
by members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI)
6 September – 21 December 2017
A vibrant exhibition showcasing winning entries from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) biennial competition.
Children’s picture book illustration is one of the most innovative and creative areas of the current publishing industry. Pictures at Play celebrated this talent, comprising stunning artwork from the prestigious SCBWI 2017 competition.
Chosen by a jury including published illustrators, art directors and Half Moon, Pictures at Play covered an array of genres and showcased some wonderful work by published and unpublished artists in the field. All the illustrations were aimed at young people, from work for babies through to graphic style work for teenagers.
SCBWI is the only professional organisation dedicated to serving people writing and illustrating for children and young adults in the fields of children’s literature, magazines, film, television and multimedia. Find out more at www.scbwi.org
Fine art prints of the exhibits and books by the exhibitors were available to purchase. 10% of all prints sold will be donated to the charity War Child.
