Greenwich Printmakers presents a striking selection of their vibrant and evocative original fine art.
Each piece is hand-printed and uses traditional techniques, such as etching, linocut and screen-printing, to present a vivid sense of place and narrative across an exciting and wide-ranging collection.
Taking inspiration from a variety of subjects, from London landmarks to the natural world, from the beautiful to the absurd, these handmade works will appeal to young people and adults alike.
Greenwich Printmakers Come East is a rare moment for the East End to share the excitement of the cooperative’s collective artistic talent, one of London’s most respected printmakers’ communities.
Established in 1979, Greenwich Printmakers is an independent co-operative of 35 artist-printmakers, whose members run a gallery in the heart of historic Greenwich. The members all play a part in running both the gallery and the organisation, with most of the members residing in or around London.
Greenwich Printmakers has previously had exhibitions at the National Theatre and the Barbican and for the first time come ‘east’ to exhibit at the Half Moon Theatre.

Beneath some of the artworks there are chalk boards for visitors – young and older – to make their own responses, or leave their own creative imprints for others to enjoy. There is also a specially created Gallery Trail for children to complete.
For all our exhibitions, we provide a gallery trail for children. School and community groups can visit free of charge to support young people in gaining Arts Award Discover and Explore. Contact Androulla on 020 7709 8908 or youth@halfmoon.org.uk for more information.
Opening times
Greenwich Printmakers Comes East runs from 20 September 2024–8 January 2025 at Gallery @ Half Moon during the theatre opening hours: Monday – Friday 10am-6pm and on Saturdays from 10am-4pm if there is a show on in the theatre.
