Sad No More

by Francesco Pellitta

15 September – 17 January 2023

A joyful and uplifting collection of prints by digital illustrator and graphic designer Francesco Pellitta.

Taking inspiration from the artist’s journey of self-expression emerging from the pandemic, Sad No More explores Francesco’s lived experiences and belief in diversity, inclusion and self-awareness.

The exhibition features bold, vibrant block colours and streamlined illustrations of everyday life, finding playful and reflective moments within ordinary, daily encounters with people, animals and objects. The images express the artist’s identity and feelings, hoping to help spread a positive message of diversity.

Sad No More asks the viewer to examine their own position and influence in the world, aiming to inspire everyone to stand up for equality, challenge discrimination and question society’s historic and active role in disempowering minority communities.

Originally from Basilicata in southern Italy, Francesco now lives and works as a freelance artist locally to Half Moon in Whitechapel. Having completed studies in communications, he previously worked as a graphic designer for several charities. His main area of work is now through private commissions.

Sad No More, the eponymous piece in this exhibition, was recently exhibited in the Tate Modern Staff Biennale.
