Half Moon aims to be an inclusive theatre organisation. Access underpins our work. We strive to provide inclusive working practice for artists and staff, and an accessible theatrical and participatory experience for all our audiences. We at Half Moon are confident that we offer an accessible experience for everyone. If you do have any questions or recommendations please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Half Moon is a fully accessible building. The auditorium is fitted with a loop system. Touch Tours are available prior to all plays in our season upon request and some shows include British Sign Language. An audio CD/large print version of all publicity is available.
Detailed Wayfinding Directions for blind and partially sighted visitors to Half Moon are available here.
We have created a detailed video story about visiting Half Moon Theatre to help people with autism – Social Story page.
Half Moon runs seven fully inclusive Youth Theatre groups as well as a specialist group for disabled teenagers. We will discuss access needs with prospective members and provide the appropriate support to enable young people of all abilities to participate in the group. For more information visit the Youth Theatre page.
Work in Schools
Half Moon works in partnership with educational facilities delivering specialist workshops and residencies in Special Schools. We deliver bespoke projects in collaboration with specialist settings, or particular units within mainstream schools which meet and complement each individual centre’s needs. Visit the Educators page for more information.
